<p>The purpose of this short learning programme is to equip the student with the necessary knowledge to identify the characteristics of a knowledge economy in the 4IR to be able to have a comprehensive understanding of the knowledge economy and intellectual capital as a key commodity in a knowledge economy. You will be able to describe the importance of knowledge-intensive activities in wealth creation; show cognisance of the problems, issues and opportunities of developing countries moving towards a knowledge economy; and have the necessary skills of knowledge workers to contribute to the workplace in the knowledge economy.</p>
<p>The purpose of this short learning programme (SLP) in Contemporary Knowledge Management Techniques is to equip students with the knowledge and skill to identify the different elements of Knowledge Management (KM) within their work environments. The SLP is designed to equip students with the skills to formulate knowledge strategies and promote a knowledge-sharing culture through the use of Communities of Practice and knowledge cafés.</p>
<p>The purpose of this short learning programme (SLP) in Social Media Knowledge Management is to introduce students to the concept of social media information management from a business perspective, by investigating how companies successfully disseminate and gather information through social media. The SLP focuses on the creation of a social media information management strategy, aligned to an organisation’s business objectives, as well as to explore best practices regarding social media information management policy drafting and implementation.</p>
<p>The purpose of this short learning programme (SLP) on Personal Information and Data Protection is to introduce students to the concepts of data protection compliance in business within the private and public sectors in South Africa. By identifying how companies can successfully implement Privacy and Data Protection, ensuring compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). The key focus of this SLP is the creation of a Privacy and Data Protection strategy by organisations, aligned with the organisational business objectives and corporate strategy, as well as to explore best practices regarding Privacy and Data Protection policy drafting and implementation in South Africa.</p>
<p>The purpose of the BRICS + Diplomacy and Governance SLP is to equip participants with knowledge, insights, and skills to understand and participate effectively in BRICS+ cooperation and diplomacy.<br>The short learning programme will contribute to meeting the demand for multi-disciplinary and transdisciplinary capacity building for a changing global economic and political environment, equipping young unemployed matriculants, graduates and any individual with skills to navigate the careers, businesses and endeavours that come with changes that come with the BRICS expansion.</p>
<p>Conflict is a constant feature of societies worldwide. Whilst striving for peace is an important goal, conflict, when handled well, improves relationships and can have a positive effect on organisations, communities and societies. In societies undergoing political and social transformation, conflict happens in a range of institutions such as schools, businesses, places of worship and health and welfare departments. People working in these institutions are often faced with high levels of conflict and want to develop their skills to manage it more effectively. In this Short Learning Programme, participants will learn how to analyse conflict to understand its origins, drivers and context.</p>
