About Course

Description:

The purpose of the SLP Financial Risk module is to introduce students to financial risk, types of risks, risk terminology used in the financial sector, sources of financial risk, risk frameworks, risk identification, measurement, and risk management. This will also introduce students to know how to solve or manage financial risks and be creative in formulating new methods or ways to solve financial risks.

Admission Requirements:

A National Senior Certificate (NSC) with certificate endorsement is required for admission.

Course Curriculum

  1. Define and explain financial risk and related risk terminology.
  2. Identify different types and sources of financial risks within organisations and financial institutions.
  3. Analyse the impact of financial risks on organisational performance and sustainability.
  4. Apply risk identification and risk assessment techniques in financial environments.
  5. Evaluate financial risk management frameworks and strategies.
  6. Demonstrate the ability to measure and monitor financial risks using appropriate tools and techniques.
  7. Recommend suitable financial risk mitigation and control measures.
  8. Develop innovative and creative solutions for managing emerging financial risks.
