About Course

Description:

This SLP aims to provide AHPCSA practitioners with the skills and knowledge to set up and run a fully functioning dispensary. By equipping the practitioner with these skills, it will allow them to apply for and obtain a Dispensing and Compounding License from the National Department of Health, which forms an integral part of running a successful allied health professional’s practice.

Admission Requirements:

Qualified practitioners registered with Allied Health Professions Council of South Africa (AHPCSA) in the domains of Homoeopathy, Phytotherapy, Naturopathy, Unani Tibb, Ayurveda, and/or Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture.

Unit 2 -  Pharmaceutical Marketing
Unit 3- Pharmaceutical Principles of Dispensing
Unit 4- Medicine Procurement and Storage
Unit 5- Good Dispensing Practice
Unit 6- Profession Specific Compounding Methods
Unit 7- Counselling of a Patient on Administration of Medication
Unit 8- Drug Interactions and Basic Pharmacokinetic Principles
Unit 9- Ethical Issues in Dispensing and Distributive Justice
Unit 10- Adverse Event Monitoring
Unit 11- Bioequivalence and Medicine Substitution, EDL / PMB
Unit 12- Evidence Based Medicine
